Review Article Format

Each review article will be divided into four main sections:

• Introduction
• Background
• Review
• Impressions

The divisions are used so that people familiar with the subject matter can skip to the portions of the review that interest them, since background information can be extensive at times. I will do my best to limit the number of science-y terms, but this is often difficult to accomplish without writing textbook length explanations of the research being described. As a compromise, easily described terminology will be described using a tooltip popup and will look like this. Longer content will be linked to an external information source to be read at the convenience of the reader.

Many people familiar with the subject matter may find the reviews and/or background information incomplete or generalized. Please keep in mind that the review articles are being written for a general audience with various scientific interests. For those who wish to experience a more immersive experience, the source material will always be linked to in the introduction.

Since this forum is in its infancy, I am always open to suggestions and will do my best to incorporate ideas into subsequent reviews, as long as the ideas are consistent with the goals of this blog. I hope you enjoy your experience here!
